COVID-19 and Spring Break - Travel Advisory

If your child plans to travel to China, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Japan over Spring Break, please inform your school immediately.  Following the CDC guidelines, those who travel (students and staff) to these countries or any additional countries added to the CDC Level 2 and 3 list over Spring Break will need to stay home for 14 days from the time he/she left one of these countries. Parents must send in written notification of their child’s travel to one of these countries to their campus principal.

In addition to staying home for this 14-day period, the CDC recommends the following steps for individuals who have traveled to Level 3 Travel Health Notice countries and areas in the U.S. affected by COVID-19:

  1. Take your temperature with a thermometer two times a day and monitor for fever. Also watch for cough or trouble breathing.
  2. Do not take public transportation, taxis, or ride-shares during the time you are practicing social distancing.
  3. Avoid crowded places (such as shopping centers and movie theaters) and limit your activities in public.
  4. Keep your distance from others (about 6 feet).
More information and updates on the coronavirus can be found on your campus website under the "Parents" tab and also on the new TEA resource page, https://tea.texas.gov/texas-schools/safe-and-healthy-schools/coronavirus-covid-19-support-and-guidance.
